ALS refers to Advance Life Support unit offering two paramedics, IV's, medication/fluids, advanced airways, cardiac defibrillation and conversion, and many more advanced life saving skills.

BLS refers to Basic Life Support unit offering two to three emergency medical technicians providing oxygen therapy, airway management, cpr, and other basic life support skills.
