Helping you help others

Whatcom County Fire District Seven's community CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) program is aimed at providing the knowledge necessary to equip all citizens with the skills necessary to recognize when someone needs help and how to provide life-saving CPR. Over the years CPR has become increasingly easier to perform and now anyone can master the procedure in a short classroom held at our fire station or at your venue upon scheduling.

What is CPR?

CPR is the first treatment for a person who has collapsed and has no pulse and has stopped breathing. It is the attempt to restore circulation of the blood and prevent death or brain damage due to the lack of oxygen.

Almost 383,000 cardiac arrests occur annually at work, the gym, the store and elsewhere. As much as 88% take place at home.

The American Heart Association confirms that effective immediate bystander CPR after sudden cardiac arrest can double, even triple, a victim's chance of survival. Unfortunately, only 32% of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.

Investing a couple of hours of your time, can help save a life.

You can make a difference.
